Born in 1957 and trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Valence, Thomas Groslier is a figurative painter associated with Figuration Libre. His painting is free and spontaneous, drawing as much on everyday life as on the imagination.
Portraits, bathers, landscapes, still lifes and genre scenes: subjects emerge without a preconceived plan, guided by images and impressions. The artist favours small formats and works primarily in oil and tempera. His painting is restrained, precise and often enigmatic.
