Thomas Groslier was born in Amiens in 1957.

In 1976, he entered the École des Beaux-Arts de Valence.

During his years of training, he was drawn to the work of Paul Delvaux, Marcel Gromaire, Balthus, De Chirico, Van Gogh and Fragonard.

From 1983 onwards, he developed a figurative body of work drawing on the classical tradition. His subjects are varied: portraits, landscapes, still lifes and genre scenes.

His painting is characterised by a smooth and precise technique, together with a generally restrained palette dominated by blues, greys and greens.

The artist favours small-scale formats, which he considers more intimate, and works in a variety of techniques. He primarily works in oil and tempera on canvas, wood or cardboard, with the supports most often prepared by himself.
Depuis 1983, son travail est exposé dans différents lieux, galeries et musées.
